Activity-Based and Agent-Based Models
As an employee of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), Wolfgang led the development of an agent-based model (ABM) for all of Switzerland. The model includes a synthetic population, an activity-based demand model and agent-based traffic flow simulation. The model covers all modes of transport nationwide. It is one of the few ABM’s in Europe that are robust enough in forecasting that they are used in the practice of mid- and long-term transportation planning. Today, the model is applied in business processes and planning projects within the SBB organization and on behalf of partner organizations, such as bus operators.
At MOVENTES, we support you in the development and in the application of such innovative transport models, bringing this experience to you and designing the models to your specific needs.
